HiSky launches direct flights between Chisinau and Hamburg Operations begin this spring

24.01.2023

HiSky continues to strengthen its presence at Chisinau airport. Starting this May, the airline will begin operating its 13th direct route, departing from the capital. The newest destination introduced in its regular schedule is Hamburg. This becomes the third city in Germany to which Moldovans can travel directly, after Düsseldorf and Frankfurt.

The first flight is scheduled to take place on May 26, and tickets are already available for booking on the company's website, starting Wednesday, January 24. According to the established schedule, the flight will operate twice a week, departing from Chisinau to Hamburg and return, every Wednesday and Sunday, with rates starting from 46 euros per segment.

Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany, after the capital, the largest port, and one of the main economic centers. Due to its location near the northern border, the city's airport is an important connection point for flights to distant destinations, as well as for road and rail links with the entire northern region of the country or even with Denmark or Sweden. Thus, with a flight to Hamburg, Moldovans can easily reach cities such as Bremen, Rostock, or Hanover.

"Germany is one of the countries with a strong Moldovan community and, at the same time, a highly accessed business destination. Frankfurt was among our first operated routes, later we managed to add Düsseldorf, and now we will reach the northern limit, Hamburg. With these three airports, which offer rapid road connections to nearby cities, we manage to cover a good part of the country and, I believe, to meet the needs of a significant part of our passengers. We are launching this route right before the summer season, so as to offer a quick and affordable alternative to all those planning to visit Germany or return home for vacation," said Iulian Scorpan, HiSky CEO.

The duration of a direct journey between Chisinau and Hamburg is 2 hours and 55 minutes, and the flights will be operated with one of the aircraft from the Airbus A320 family that HiSky has in its fleet. With the launch of the new route, the airline reaches a total of 17 direct and connected destinations operated from the airport in the Republic of Moldova. HiSky offers direct flights to Bucharest, Dublin, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Paris, Milan, Rome, Bologna, Venice, Tel Aviv, London, Istanbul, and Hamburg. With a short connection in Bucharest, passengers departing from Chisinau can travel to New York, Barcelona, Brussels, and Bordeaux.
